previous hour in blatant conflict. Good times. Heather came out for my presentation, and the day of was the most stressful day for me in a long time. I apparently didn't coordinate enough with the church elders about the style and format of my presentation and nothing seemed to be working out. And I was so frustrated and felt helpless---it was really hard. And all of a sudden, my white knight in shining armor rode up on his gallant steed, and offered his sword on my behalf. In other words, Jason was REALLY helpful in jerryrigging everything together and printing off my handouts and everything. Ahh. What a relief. And as he gave me a hug to help calm me down, Heather saw it. She's so smart. Of course, to be honest, Heather also saw potential in Jason the first time she met him, potential for me I mean. About a year earlier, she met Jason and told me later that she first thought we would make a cute couple. I didn't see it. And I still didn't see it that morning as he was helping me. But she did, and she knew. |
After church, I invited a few people out to dinner at Pizza Hut as a goodbye dinner for Heather, and invited Jason because he had been so helpful. I was really surprised when he said no, he had plans to play some games with his family, because they usually don't mind going out to eat after church with folks. But, it was no skin off my nose. However, just as we sat down to order, in walks Jason Shade. And that is when I knew. I just knew. And he sat right beside me. Across from Heather with a camera. That is a DANGER ZONE. Danger danger!! Last time she took a picture of me with a boy was when I was in the 7th grade and next thing I know he's holding my hand and we're walking through a cornfield and he "asks me out". And that day in Pizza Hut, Heather took a picture of me and Jason. God has given her some special kind of ability, how 'bout it? So, that Tuesday, Jason invited me up to the apartment for dinner. I knew, and my stomach |
