Well, I am sure that you have already read Katie's version of how we met. But I have a little bit of a different take on it. I was rebelling throughout the entire process. Well maybe it would better be said that I was being lead by the Holy Spirit and I had yet to see the truth. You see I remember it this way . . . How We Meet
His Version The first instance that I remember was one summer afternoon in 2003. Matthew Garber and a group of people from Grove City College's Inner Varsity team were holding a block style party at my apartment complex. Since they were setup nearly in my backyard, I cooked hotdogs for the event. On one of my trips out to deliver hotdogs, the Holy Spirit gently nudged me towards Katie, and he said, "What do you think |
of Katie?" Almost immediately, I dismissed any idea of anything romantic, because I hardly knew her. I was also aware that she would be returning to Grove City and more than likely I would not see her again. When she did come back into the Altoona Area and join our fellowship at House Church, the Holy Spirit would again and again prompt me with the same question - "What do you think of my Katie?" Each time I would dismiss the idea of dating her. Following her graduation from Grove City College in 2005, Katie moved to Altoona and shared a house with Faith Detwiler and Melissa Longsdorf. Her roommates planned a birthday party during one of the Community Bible Church soccer team's games in February. At the time in my life, I was pretty anti-social when when it came to activities that did not involve my family directly. I remember being invited to her party, but honestly I am not sure that I would have gone if my brother had not been playing on the soccer |
